Sonix Technology announced to introduce a series of new HD web cam chips SN9C280/281 series which support to the Next generation architecture processor, Haswell, which is announced by Intel in CES 2013. The new series of SN9C280/281 is the most competitive web camera solutions for Ultrabook and Tablet.
Intel recently announced the fourth generation Haswell processors featuring extremely low power consumption and high performance. This processor is specifically designed for Ultrabook giving manufacturers more flexibility on thinner and lighter products. This processor is considered the most competitive weapon for Intel to reclaim NB markets.
The new series of web camera SN9C280/281 is based on the Haswell architecture and also incorporates the built-in LPM L1 in USB controller to reduce the whole power consumption. The SN9C280/281 series has excellent performance. The consumption of bandwidth and systems resources is pretty low during video conferencing, enabling the CPU to reach C7 level while in operation. The electric current is below 30 mA during standby modes. The built-in clock synthesizer canfurther increase the efficiency and save energy.
Furthermore, the USB controller incorporates Low Power Management L1 design which also achieves the goal of power saving. SN9C280/281 series supports 720P (HD) CMOS sensor, beside that it also supports to up to 1080 P (Full HD) sensor to fulfill customers’ demand for high definition image quality.
The series of SN9C280/281 equipped with MIPI and Parallel two types of interface. The series with MIPI interface also can support tablet PC that provide more variety choices for customers.
