What is the highest PWM output pulse frequency of SN8P2714 (keep 8-bit precision) when plug 16M crystal? What is the difference with other chips?
When plug 16M crystal, under the conditions of Fcpu = Fosc / 4, 2714 can output a
maximum of 62.5KHz PWM frequency pulse (keep 8-bit precision). Different from other
chips, the two timer counters TC0, TC1 of 2714 have a TC0X8 or TC1X8 control bit.
When the two control bits set to 0, TC0 TC1 clock is from Fcpu; when the two control
bits are set to 1, TC0 or TC1 clock is from Fosc, while the timer counter clock of
other chip are from Fcpu. The above PWM output frequency is get in TC0X8 or TC1X8
control bit opened state.
