SONiX Introduces Energy-Efficient, High-Performance SN8F5700 Series with New 8051 Flash MCU for Home Appliance, Power Management, IoT Bridge/Device & BLDC Motor Applications
For the ongoing commitment to improve energy efficiency without sacrificing technical
performance, SONiX, the global leader in consumer microcontroller design, has developed
a new series utilizing the 8051 Flash MCU. The SN8F5700 series has been designed
for applications such as Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motor, home appliances, power
management appliances and IOT Bridges/Devices.
The SN8F5700 series integrates SONiX’s new 8051 1T 32MHz high-speed CPU with their 32-bit hardware Multiplication/Division Unit (MDU). The SN8F5700 family of products has three series: SN8F5708, SN8F5703 and SN8F5702. The key features of SN8F5708 series are the new, built-in 1T 8051 CPU, 32MHz high-speed computing power, 3 sets of 16-bit multi-mode timers, 3 sets of external interrupt function, 12-channel high-precision 12-bit 500KHz SAR ADC, I2C interface, SPI interface, UART interface(can be used for RF bridge modules such as BLE, ZigBee, Z-Wave, LoRa) in addition to SONiX’s renowned anti-interference and ESD technology.
In comparison to SONiX’s previous 8-bit MCUs, the SN8F5700 series stands out with market-leading features including three individual sets of 16-bit asynchronous 32MHz High Speed PWM Generator and support for up to 6-channel PWM output. SN8F5700 can easily define cycle and duty through registers. The max speed of cycle is 16MHz, the max resolution is 16-bit with dead-band/invert function. The PWM can easily be applied to BLDC motor Six Step Square Wave/Sine Wave controls, wireless power charger coil driving and MOS control appliance. Further, SN8F5700 series offers a wide range of benefits by combining internal interrupt and high precision SAR ADC therefore the function of PWM can be utilized for Brushless Direct Current Motor (BLDC Motor) and for Hall-sensor and sensor less applications.
SN8F5700 is equipped with a high precision 2/3/4V power source providing internal feedback to the 12-bit SAR ADC. These advantages enable the MCU to monitor power supply without requiring an additional external device, thus reducing application circuit costs! The family of SN8F5700 are available in 14~48 packages.
In regards to the development environment, SN8F5700 series incorporates 16/8/4KB Embedded Flash ROM and built-in encryption to protect both the customers’ firmware and intellectual property. SN8F5700 series features a built-in ISP (In-System-Program) for real-time, on-line firmware updating and EEPROM data storage emulation. SN8F5700 series includes an On-Chip Debugger System (OCDS) internal debugger function through the Single Wire Asynchronous Interface (SWAT) for active online firmware developing and debugging. Firmware development and system emulating is available on Keil A51 platform. SONiX provides development kits for SN8F5700 series to reduce customers’ development lead-times.
