Sonix Launches High Resolution Wireless Image Transmission Solutions for UAVs

In recent years, unmanned vehicles (such as drones and autonomous vehicles) have developed rapidly with applications spanning military, industrial, commercial, agricultural, disaster relief, and recreational fields. The demand for low-latency and high-quality wireless image transmission applications has been increasing significantly. Deeply devoted to wireless image transmission solutions, Sonix Technology has launched its latest high-resolution digital image transmission system, which is built on the SNIT20 series chipset. Utilizing H.264 hardware encoding technology, it effectively controls the video compression bitrate, ensuring high-quality image retention. By combining wireless communication protocol optimization technology and a real-time operating system (RTOS), the image transmission latency can be as low as 40 milliseconds, substantially enhancing the responsiveness and stability of unmanned vehicles in real-time monitoring.

Features of the SNIT20 image transmission solution introduced by Sonix include excellent CMOS sensor image processing, 3D noise reduction technology, low-power FHD resolution compression and decompression circuits, 40-millisecond low-latency image transmission technology, and a transmission range of several kilometers. It employed wireless communication protocol optimization technology and channel optimization techniques to overcome interference from other devices operating in the same frequency band, ensuring transmission stability and reliability, as well as superior anti-interference capability. It supports full-time image recording and archiving, and the image transmission receiver is compatible with high-resolution LCD displays and USB format images, which can be output to mobile phones or backend base stations. It also integrates MAV Link message display, transmission, and storage. Sonix provides a user-friendly and complete SDK (Software Development Kit) to meet customers' customization needs, resulting in a variety of rich and distinctive user interfaces.

Statistics from the Ministry of Economic Affairs reveal that the global UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) market reached $30.4 billion in 2022 and is expected to grow to $41.3 billion by 2026. Research from DRONEII.com predicts the market will reach $57.8 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 7.9% in the commercial sector. As the industry gains global attention due to evolving international dynamics and diverse applications, acquiring relevant information through sensor signals has become essential. Image transmission solutions are playing a critical role in UAV supply chain. Sonix Technology is committed to the drone markets by developing advanced image ISP technology and improving wireless transmission distances. As the only Taiwan based IC design company providing mature image transmission chips, Sonix aims to be a pioneering force in the drone industry with high-quality solutions.
